He replaced the floor throughout my flat becuause it had been damaged by a water leak. I am delighted wtih the end result. Andrew kept my flat as clean as possible, even though there were huge amounts of dust and debris, and I really appreciated the care he took in this. I came across a recommendation for London Wood on line and am so glad I did.
I used them to sand, stain and varnish a double reception room and hallway in a typical Victorian terrace house. 3 guys arrived at 8am and worked through until 9pm to ensure the job was finished in one day as we had decorators starting the following day. All 3 guys were polite and helpful with a 'can do' attitude.
The end result is gorgeous and I would happily recommend them to anyone.

The job turned out to be more troublesome than expected as when the first stripping of the old floor stain was done it revealed the extent of old woodworm damage. This meant we had to replace a few more boards and David had to go back to get extra material. Though I quite like the "distressed" appearance of the floor I am sure David thought it wasn't good enough and it was great to see someone with such pride in the job. The chaps you sent along arrived just before 8am, moved the sofas out on to the terrace for me and helped me carry the TV upstairs and then got on quickly and efficiently with the job. The wood looked and felt wonderful when they finished sanding and I was almost sad to see the varnish go on! It dried very quickly as you said and by 11:30 they were hand sanding the second coats ready for the final coat and they were finished by 12:00. It is now about 2pm and it is already touch dry and the floor is looking very good.

The varnish enhances the wonderful swirling grain of the timber and I am delighted with its appearance. We will give it the full recommended time to harden up before putting the furniture back in and the shelving and sofa feet have already been fitted with felt pads so all I need is dry weather to bring the tarpaulin-draped furniture back in from the terrace and a couple more strong lads to lift the sofas back in again for me!

My wife and I were genuinely delighted by the service provided by your company, both initially,when you responded immediately to our original enquiry and follow-up questions (and built us so quickly into your schedule of work); and then in the excellent performance of your team who arrived on time; helped us to move the furniture; and then did a really great job on the floors. The job was finished well ahead of schedule (2 days instead of 3) and at an absolute minimum (far less than we expected) disruption to us - thanks to excellent planning and execution. The team, who were all polite and helpful, cleaned up each day, leaving hardly any dust or issues, and then took everything away at the end.

I have to say this was also in marked contrast to the performance of two different firms earlier in the week who simply had to lay a floor covering, and then a carpet, in a single room. Between them they caused far more inconvenience and delay, in one case at least we feel overcharged for labour, and left us with rubbish, unmoved furniture and a general sense that they were doing us a favour !
